Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Mugubi Wanyama is currently holidaying in Zanzibar and he has spoken of his wish to buy a house and settle in the island sometime in the near future.

Speaking to Azam TV, Wanyama revealed that he was seriously considering getting a house in the island due to its serenity.

"It’s somewhere I’d love to live, the place is calm. I’m seriously considering getting a house here," said Wanyama.

Arguably one of the most paid athletes in Kenya bagging over Sh20 million every month, he owns several properties in Kenya and the UK where is said to have spent over Sh60 million for his London property.

The international footballer is taking the much-needed break after a gruelling English Premier League season that saw his team finish at a respectable third place.

Together with his family, they are enjoying the cool waters of Zanzibar while staying at the five-star Hotel, Verde.

Wanyama has visited the East African Island on several occasions and has become fond of the place so much so that a street in Tanzania was named after him last year.

It was however pulled down after Tanzanian authorities claimed that official procedures of renaming the street were not followed.

Despite this unpleasant experience, it has not stopped the 27-year-old from exploring the possibility of settling down in Zanzibar.
