This had nothing to do with Texas, but the dress code was strictly cowboy; leather boots with hard wooden heels, straight blue jeans, leather belts with metal buckles, and straw hats. And the birthday girl, celebrated TV and radio personality, DJ Pierra, led by example.
Only a few metres from the popular Jockey Club, Pierra closed down the Royal Salute Polo Club on Ngong Road on Friday night for a lavish party that saw guests wine and dine like kings and queens in celebration of her 37th birthday.
It was an invite-only affair at the private billionaires members’ club. The exclusive event cost more than Sh1 million. Indeed, it was such a private affair that these photos by MondayBlues are the only ones captured by the press.
“This is a very private club that belongs to billionaires. In fact, this is the third party to ever be hosted here and we are glad to have Pierra associate with us,” noted the club manager.
Dress code
The dress code as well as the setting and the selection of music cut a mature demeanour, which was what Pierra wanted to portray as her coming of age, in an industry she has served for over a decade.
“It has been a long journey; a sweet one whose challenges have made me a better person. Many of you have walked with me the whole while and I just want to thank you for standing by me through the good and bad times,” said a joyful and emotional Pierra.
“I thank God for the strides I have made and for the future plans he has for me going forward,” she added.
“I am a year older. Many more are still to come,” Pierra said before guests toasted to her long life.
