A court has ordered Meshack Kipkpoech, brother to Gospel artist Emmy Kosgei, to pay Sh. 954, 000 within 10 days.
The money is awarded to the victim, Mr Andrew Cheruiyot, who died in the 2008 road accident along Mogotio-Marigat road in Baringo.
Signing the order, Principal Magistrate Bernard Mararo directed that the amount be paid to Mrs Kotete Chebet, mother to the deceased.
The court agreed to lift a jail term for Meshack after he agreed to pay the money. Meshack was found guilty of hitting a man and causing his death.
