And he claimed millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 US presidential election (which he won).
But now the President has found HIMSELF at the centre of a conspiracy theory - and it's gathering traction.

Social media users have a theory that Melania Trump has been replaced by a body double.
While the tongue-in-cheek suspicion has been circulating online for a while, it has become a full-blown conspiracy theory in the last few days.
Actress and comedian Andrea Wagner Barton shared a status on Facebook on Friday, questioning if the First Lady had been replaced by a lookalike.
She wrote: "Is it me or during his speech today a decoy 'stood in' for Melania??"
She shared a video, filmed in the White House garden on Friday October 13, in which Trump appears to go to great lengths to emphasise it IS his wife.
The President is heard to say "my wife, Melania, who happens to be right here...".
The post has been shared more than 100,000 times, sending conspiracy theorists into a frenzy.
Some social media users offered 'evidence' that the woman standing with Trump has subtle physical differences to the 'real' Melania Trump.
Other's have referenced the President's apparent slip-ups and contradictions regarding his wife's whereabouts.
While many have seen the funny side, others have become convinced by the body double theory.
One user wrote: "Oh my lord. That is totally not her. I am freaking out."
Another added: "Wow! That is totally not her! Look at that harsh contour on her nose! I've studied her face ... totally doesn't look like her to me. What the heck is happening in this world!?!"
