A fire has razed down a dormitory at Sigoti Complex Girls Secondary School in Nyakach Sub County. The building went up in flames early today at around 8am.

The fire began when the school was at a parade to start cleaning when they were alerted by a neighbour to the school about the fire.

Speaking to KTN, the Principal of Sigoti Complex Girls Secondary School said that they have not yet established the cause of the fire that has destroyed the building and students belongings of unknown value.

This fire incident has happened just hours after seven students lost their lives and 10 injured in a dormitory fire at Moi Girls Nairobi.

There were no casualties in the incident at Sigoti as the students were already out of the dormitory when the fire started.

Police are already at the school trying to find out the cause of the fire.
