The little favour Raila asked of Esther Passaris
Held up on the campaign trail in Kwale County, National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga failed to attend the much-publicised cultural Luo Festival held at the Carnivore grounds in Nairobi on Saturday night, and instead asked Nairobi woman representative candidate Esther Passaris to deliver his speech.
The political kingpin, who was expected to give the keynote speech during the popular cultural event, excused himself after he got stuck at the Coast where he has been campaigning.
Ms Passaris took everybody by surprise when she took to the stage looking elegant and, instead of campaigning for herself, delivered Raila's speech.
"Baba (Raila) would have loved to be here but he is held up in Kwale. He has however sent me to urge you all to come out on August 8 and cast your votes," she said.

"Today, we launch the 'Linda Kura' initiative whereby we ask for volunteers to come out and register as agents who will watch over our votes at all the polling stations," she added.
