Rita Ora filed a lawsuit in December against Jay Z and Roc Nation because of their lack of support for her career. In return, Roc Nation is suing her for not upholding the recording contract she signed with the company

The record label which is owned by Shawn Carter (Jay-Z), is seeking $2.4 million in its suit, claiming that it spent more than $2 million marketing and promoting the singer's second album, which has yet to be released.

Howard King, Rita Ora’s attorney stated that “Jay Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalized.”

After signing to the label in 2008 at 18years old, she said she felt the support of the label. But as time has gone on, things have changed after the label launched TIDAL streaming services hence the shift in the senior management's focus.

The Southpaw actress also says that when Roc Nation switched distribution partners from Sony to Universal in 2013, she was not included in the deal.

She is demanding release from the label so that she can continue to make music and further her career.
