A candidate died in hospital where he has been writing his papers since Monday when the KCSE started.
The student from Sitoito Secondary School in Kuresoi Sub-county, Nakuru County died at Kamwaura Health Centre yesterday when he was expected to write his Chemistry practical.
Confirming the death Friday, Nakuru Education Director Isaac Atebe described the candidate’s death as a huge loss.
“The candidate was expected to undertake the Chemistry paper but he died in the morning,” said Mr Atebe.

The director said the candidate had been admitted at the facility after he developed complications prior to kick off the examination. Health workers at the facility, who had been attending to him, said his condition had been deteriorating.
“The candidate was assessed by doctors at the hospital on Thursday night. The medics said his condition was deteriorating and in the morning, he passed on,” said Atebe.
