Palaver
We often rue our actions when push comes to shove. this must be the thought crowding WikiLeaks bad boy Juliane Assanges. The physics and math whizkid just enriched his tinkering with computers with whistle-blowing and now he finds himself in all manner of trouble. Punctured egos and a red-faced world has decided to nail him of (of all things) unprotected sex and some not-so-good bedroom manners. Now that must hurt. Why not something to do with zeroes and ones and things binary that any computer geek would understand? All this after they block his bank account. Now how is he supposed to pay his bail and lawyer? Might be time for the poison-pill option to outleak all leaks.

The Kenyan politician is a unique species. When he is not in Parliament busy denying something or other his ministry might have been involved in or a leaky financial deal like former VP Musalia did, he might be crafting some or other alliance, like the current VP. But what was that about some unnamed people trying to use the ICC process to eliminate competition in 2012?

Palaver wisely commented last month that incumbent African presidents do not lose power — at least not at the ballot box. But did the folks in Ivory Coast? No! Now despite the spirited efforts of Thabo Mbeki, the big rungu from Barack Obama across the Atlantic, the UN’s blaring horn or the collective wisdom of the African Union, incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo refuses to concede defeat and is busy creating a post-Kenya job for Luis Moreno-Ocampo. Presumed winner Alassane Ouattara has pitched tent at a local hotel, surrounded by UN tanks and sandbags. Hardly presidential but at least half the world backs him.

And finally...
Jacob Mulee must be clairvoyant. The man ditched the Harambee Stars job and left his critics speechless. Not so coach Guiseppe Iachini (Brescia), Martin Jol (Ajax), Chris Hughton (Newcastle), Sam Ssimbwa (Sofapaka) and Peter ambetsa (Posta Rangers) who waited for marching orders. Dear Coaches, when you see the clouds gather next time, please take a hint.
