Nairobi, Kenya: The Government has been ordered to reinstate the State security assigned to Machakos County Senator Johnstone Muthama.

High Court judge Mumbi Ngugi made the orders Tuesday following an urgent application by Mr Muthama.

She directed the Government to reinstate his security until a case he has lodged in Nairobi challenging the withdrawal of the guards is heard and determined.

The orders were directed to Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo and Security Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo who were named as respondents.

Also sued alongside the two is the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA).
