An armed police officer was yesterday stabbed and injured by a suspect he had arrested in Wundanyi town.
The man was being arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his uncle.
According to the police, the injured officer was stabbed in the thigh and was taken to the Wundanyi Health Centre.
“The armed police officers had confronted the suspect in the town as he wielded a knife before he attacked one of them. The suspect fled the scene and is being sought,” said an officer.
“The police officer exercised a lot of restraint not to shoot the suspect. We are tracking him down,” added another officer.
