A magistrate has summoned the Embu Police Station OCS to explain why a suspect was not presented to court within 24 hours.
Elvis Fundi complained that he was held at the court cells the whole day on Monday and was not presented before a magistrate.
He allegedly hit a reveler with a beer bottle at the Lexo Bar and Restaurant in Embu town.
At the same court, a woman accused police of denying her the right to see her baby for two days.
Caroline Murugi faces charges of malicious damage to property in Kagumoni, Gaturi, Embu County.
