Godwin Nyambai and Ziporah Nyamusi are the 2020 Kisumu county cross country champions.
Nyambai from Kisumu clocked 35 minutes and five seconds on a tough course under hot and humid Kisumu conditions to win the men’s 10km race held at Kisumu National Polytechnic.
Clarkson Otieno from Muhoroni was second (35:06.02) while Paul Chacha from Kisumu finished third in 39:40.68.
James Mitema, Philip Odeny and Francis Khasira finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Speaking after the win, Nyambai attributed his victory to hard work and determination to win the regionals.
"I came thinking of the regionals games and therefore I had to win today. Though being forced to run late and at high temperature due to unavoidable circumstances, I am glad I was able to win," he said.
