A Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has signed an agreement with the United Nations Environment Programme (Unep) to provide the county with 50 motorcycles.
The Chinese firm, TAILG Group, revealed the pact at a meeting with Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o during a Unep summit.
The motorbikes will be brought under a duty-free arrangement that has also been arranged by Unep through the Kenya Government.
Joyson Huang', the TAILG Group marketing manager, said his company sells 30 million motorcycles globally every year.

"We will bring the 50 electric motorbikes to Kisumu in the next four months, and also bring Chinese technicians to maintain and repair them," said Mr Huang'.
Prof Nyong'o said the number of boda boda operators had increased, and that it was the mode of transport in many parts of Kenya for those who could not afford cars.
