Olivier Giroud has been left in limbo over his future - after Chelsea reportedly withdrew their offer to Arsenal which had already been accepted.
Giroud is considered the key cog in the deal to take Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal.
Dortmund are only likely to sanction Aubameyang's exit if they can secure a replacement, with Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi lined up.
Batshuayi would then subsequently be replaced at Stamford Bridge by Giroud.
But a spanner has been put in the works as reports from Giroud's native France appear to suggest that Chelsea are rethinking the deal.

L'Equipe claim that Giroud shook hands on personal terms with Chelsea on Monday, which was followed by Arsenal the agreement of a fee of just over £15million for the signing.
However, Chelsea reportedly believed that Arsenal took too long in accepting the offer, meaning the Blues took the proposal off the table, leaving Giroud in the dark over his future.
The same report claims that Arsenal and Chelsea remain in renewed discussions over Giroud.
Dortmund themselves are interested in the France international's signature, in what could become something of a swap deal with Arsenal for Aubameyang.
But Monaco are also reportedly interested.
Giroud is said to want to remain in London, making Chelsea the preferable option.
Chelsea are assessing other options as it stands, with Fernando Llorente one of the names on their shortlist.
Blues are seeking for answers up front as Alvaro Morata remains out of form and is currently missing with an injury. Arsenal on the other hand are have turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are seeming to be willing to sacrifice Giroud provided they can make the signature of Gabonese a reality.
