Braeburn Nanyuki International outclassed their erstwhile rivals Brickwoods School as they dominated the 2nd edition of the Brickwoods swimming open gala event held at the Brickwood Schools in Nanyuki on Saturday.
Braeburn Nanyuki International collected three individual wins sweeping most of the boy's and girl's individual events during the meet that saw only four out of the fifteen teams namely; host Brickwoods School-Nanyuki, Braeburn Nanyuki International, St Christopher School-Nanyuki and Hampton School Nanyuki all from Nanyuki participating.
The other teams that were expected at the gala, mostly drawn from Nairobi and neighboring towns opted for the Khaemba cup at Alliance high school for what organizers termed as logistical challenges.
Bebbington Robin of Braeburn Nanyuki International dominated the 25 meter freestyle finals after sticking with the field early for age bracket for 10-11 years and went on to clock (18.34) to win a gold medal. Nicholas Lambrechts finished second with a time of (23.01) to take silver medal as Nadeem Nizam swam 27.36 to take bronze in the event which was one of the favorites during the daylong meet.
In the boys 14 & over 100 meter Medley relay, Brickckwoods team of Samir Bachelani, Weli Blackbeard, Neo Becker, and Stephen Wamutu clocked (1.28.34) to win Gold against Braeburn Nanyuki's team of Wesley Lesingiran, Johnson Ngoe, Robin Bebbington and Dekker Noah who won silver on (1.28.85).
In the girls 14 & over 100 meter Medley relay, Braeburn Nanyuki international team of; Treza Mwatsuma, Jed Wainaina, Julia White, and Anika Bebbington, won gold with a time of (1.31.64) to take Gold as Braeburb team B of; Edith Hobb, Olivia Horwood, Lois Dekker and Libby Jackson took silver medal on (1.45.71).
Girls team scores were; Braeburn Nanyuki international amassed 171 points, Brickwoods Schools were second with 101 points, Hampton School came in third with 71 points as St Christopher's were fourth with 47 points.
Boys team scores were; Brickwoods Schools amassed 117 points, Braeburn Nanyuki international were second with 89 points, St Christopher's Nanyuki came in third with 57 points as Hampton School were fourth with 30 points.
Overall combined scores; Braeburn Nanyuki International were first with 260 points, Brickwoods School came in second with 218 points, St Christopher's Nanyuki was third with 104 points as Hampton School took fourth position with 30 points.
