22-year-old Hellen Kinyanjui from Kabianga University took her own life at her residence.
The fourth-year student pursuing a Degree in Communication and Public Relations is said to have committed suicide over love issues with her boyfriend.
It is alleged that the student had attempted to commit suicide during her second year of study.
Belgut Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Gerald Mbae said the body was found at around 11 a.m. after police were notified of the incident by Mobebi Chief Reuben Serem.
A student who spoke to the press said that she was emotional and was easily swayed by happenings.

According to Ms Mary Masitsa, a former student of Kabianga University who lives nearby, Ms Nyambura left an unfinished meal thought to have been prepared before she committed suicide.
“She was a first born in a family of four and a mother of one girl. She is said to have attempted suicide while in second year,” said Ms Masitsa
