Senator Mombasa county, Omar Hassan faces off Governor Joho during a press briefing on why he is prohibiting his rivals from erecting their billboards. He further went ahead claiming that Joho is a loser who is looking for "sympathy votes" and campaigning using President Uhuru's and his deputy William Ruto names even on matters that are not existing.
"Joho is just branding himself as a sultan and the most influential person in politics yet he is only a sultan known for condemning top government officials falsely. He is just a fake sultan and only social media fanatics recognise him," he stated.
The Mombasa senator has promised to pull forces together with Suleiman Shahbal of Jubilee and Hezron Awiti of Vibrant Democratic Party (VDP) who are all contestants of the Mombasa gubernatorial sit. He claims that Joho has imposed dictatorial powers to govern Mombasa county. In addition, he has warned Joho from killing devolution by focusing on the Jubilee affairs but instead adhere to his mandated duties as a governor of Mombasa.
He went ahead, "Joho is already a loser and I am already the victor. Everyone knows. The people of Mombasa, the media and including himself. He can go ahead and put his billboards in every wards of Mombasa county."
This comes after supporters of the Vibrant Democratic Party (VDP) led by Nyali member of parliament, Hezron Awiti Bollo alias Jobo Jobo were tear gassed by police officers resulting to Mombasa city council officers stopping the construction of the billboards. Two weeks ago, it saw Suleiman Shahbal calling for a press briefing on the same issue.
Senator Omar has threatened to include his cover art on the official NASA cover art that is yet to be put in different constituencies in Mombasa county if the NASA leaders do not intervene. He earlier stated that NASA leaders should stop condemning the government when their house is in a mess.
