Deputy President William Ruto during the 2015 Annual National Prayer Breakfast meeting held at Safari Park hotel revealed that he was shocked by the status that Jakoyo Midiwo had acquired in the Christian fraternity.
Addressing Kenyans from all walks of life, Ruto said that he was so shocked when the chairman announced that Jakoyo Midiwo was going to read the scripture. He said that he thought it was a mistake until President Uhuru pointed to him that Ferdinand Waititu was in the choir.
“When the chairman announced that Jakoyo Midiwo was going to read the scriptures I thought it was a mistake but not until the president pointed to me that, Baba Yao is in the choir. I have remembered that there is a God up there who don’t judge us from the eyes of men,” said Ruto.
Ruto said that he was greatly inspired by Jakoyo Midiwo and his commitment to the things of God. The Deputy President admitted that as a country, we have many challenges but we have many other things to thank God for.
He pointed out that although terrorism was a tool used by the Al-Shabaab militia to divide Kenyans on religious lines, it has failed completely and instead it has made Kenyans live together harmoniously.
