Kisii University scouts emerged the winners in both male and female categories of their section competitions. The two crews that are famously known as Flamingo Kings and Flamingo queens were pronounced winners of the Lake region Cluster Super Scouts competition that were held from 22nd June to 25th June 2016 in Migori County.
The Scouts Unit also represented Kenya twice in East Africa Scouts competition both in Rwanda and in Kenya scooping the title twice and becoming the epitome of scouting in institutions of higher learning.
The unit leaders Br. Francis Kerongo, Mr. Edgar Marumbu and Mr. Paul Wachiuri happy and proud of the achievements of their scouts, reminded the scouts fraternity that scouting is not just about competitions but making a real difference in the world.
The scouts have being in the frontline of activities that have positively impacted on the society. Peace initiatives, community service, disaster management, countering violent extremism and mentoring the youth are sourjorns that the movement at Kisii University hold dear and they passionately wish other scouts would adopt the same.
