Last week, Kenya missed the deadline to prove to the World-Anti Doping Agency that it had put in place measures to deal with the doping menace that the country’s athletics body has experienced in the recent past.
There is need for the Government to intervene by funding the Anti-Doping Agency so that the country may not experience the same fate as Russia by being banned from international competition.
Investigations should be carried out comprehensively and any other issue that is a setback towards the fight against doping should be dealt with accordingly.
Athletics is one sport that has made many Kenyans proud, including nurturing talent and wooing tourists to the Rift Valley.
