The Kikuyu Council of Elders has called upon all Kenyans to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
They said the two national leaders were validly elected into office.
The elders noted it was unfortunate that some leaders were not according the Head of State the respect he deserved.
In resolutions read by Ng'ang'a Nene (secretary general) last week at Ndumberi Stadium in Kiambu, the elders said all elected leaders should be respected and allowed to serve their entire terms.
"We do not want premature campaigns in the country since the next General Election is still far away," they said.
