Latest sentiments by Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru that she is not to blame for corruption cases facing her ministry show that she is ignorant of her role.
For Ms Waiguru to declare her innocence, saying she was neither the ministry’s accounting officer nor the Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE) holder shows that she is a joker of the highest order.
Waiguru should be made to understand that her colleagues who were suspended were also neither accounting officers nor AIE holders.
But what is so special with Waiguru that even the latest development cannot move the President Uhuru Kenyatta to crack the whip?
Waiguru should surely stop playing with the minds of Kenyans and instead step aside to pave way for investigations.

And the continued silence by President Kenyatta over the serious corruption cases facing Waiguru is an indication that the CS is indeed the ‘boss’.
It beats logic when the President asks other Cabinet secretaries to resign for just being mentioned over small matters but Waiguru whose ministry has lost millions of shillings through shady deals stays put.
And the arrogant manner in which the CS is addressing Kenyans on the issues shows that she is someone who matters a lot in this Government.
But one thing is for sure, and Jubilee leaders will come to remember this: The continued stay of Waiguru in office will cost this Government the next election.
Members of the Kalenjin are so bitter that their sons have been suspended for very minor allegations while Waiguru, who is accused of failure to account for millions of shillings, is comfortably in the office.
The President should act swiftly and tell Waiguru to step aside instead of waiting for MPs to humiliate her through the impending impeachment.
The President should dismiss the notion that some ministers are more important than others by suspending Waiguru.
