Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has accused his Bomet counterpart Isaac Ruto of interfering in other counties' affairs and being disrespectful to area leaders.
Mr Mbugua criticised the governor for holding a fundraiser in Salgaa to assist suspects arrested for allegedly burning down a Sh50 million fire engine two months ago.
"Nakuru is not an extension of Bomet and he should keep off. We are not happy with his conduct. Why should he come all the way to raise funds for people implicated in a crime?" he asked.
He said Mr Ruto did not even have the courtesy to inform of him of the visit. He said the tendency by some leaders to meddle in Nakuru affairs should stop, adding that it could undermine the prevailing harmony between various communities in the cosmopolitan county.
"Nakuru is peaceful and we want politicians from neighboring counties to respect us. Ruto should understand that Nakuru is different from Bomet and we are not going to allow him to continue interfering with our affairs," he said.

Mbugua, who spoke at a fundraiser in Mauche Ward, Njoro Sub-County, said Nakuru County boundaries are clear and they define the jurisdiction of the county beyond doubt.
The governor accused some Rift Valley politicians of using Mauche as a launching pad for their political interests in the neighboring counties.
He said the leadership of Nakuru County from MCAs, MPs, senators and himself is intact and there was no vacuum to warrant assistance from outsiders.
While speaking during the said fundraiser, Ruto accused Deputy President William Ruto of sidelining the South Rift Region.
