Nairobi, Kenya: A police officer was Friday arraigned in court and charged with killing a Nakumatt Supermarket auditor.
Ezekiel Momanyi Onsongo who is based at Runda Police Station in Nairobi, appeared before High Court Judge Jessie Lessit where he denied the charge.
He was charged alongside Philip Manyura Maroko, the supermarket's account manager and Dennison Mose Maroko a motorcycle rider. The trio denied killing James Karanja on May 7, along Mombasa Road at 6.30 pm.
The prosecution stated in a sworn affidavit that the deceased was shot twice in the head while leaving Nakumatt Mega after the day's work by the police officer who was on a boda boda. The suspects did not steal anything from Karanja.
Justice Lessit remanded the trio at Industrial Area Prison and set mention on July 15, when the accused will make their application for bail.
