Mombasa, Kenya: Bomb experts have detonated a hand grenade abandoned in Tononoka, Mombasa county.
Heavily armed police sealed off Malandini estate in Tononoka, and kept at bay hundreds of curious onlookers, as news spread that unidentified persons had dropped an explosive device.
Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa says residents positively identified two of three people suspected to have dropped the explosive, which a bomb squad safely detonated hours later.
Police rushed to the scene after a tip-off from their Nyumba Kumi structures and are hunting two suspects in connection with the incident.
