Police in Nakuru have recovered two guns and 76 rounds of ammunition stolen from a police post in Kongasis shopping centre in Gilgil.
According to police, the two G3 rifles were stolen after thugs broke into Tangi Tano Administration Police Post in Gilgil on Monday when officers manning the post had gone for supper.
Nakuru County Commander John Koki said it was worrying that robbers were now targeting Government property.
“The two officers were having supper in the neighbourhood and had left their guns behind when two robbers broke into the post and stole them,” Koki said. He said investigations will be conducted to establish if the guns may have been lost as a result of negligence.
