Nakuru, Kenya: Thugs raided a Maasai manyatta in Naivasha and drove away five head of cattle before slaughtering them a few metres away.
The well-organised suspects held the owner of the homestead hostage for over ten hours as they slaughtered the livestock near DTI Farm, along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
Using two vehicles, they ferried the meat to an unknown destination leaving behind internal organs, hide, hooves and the heads.
Irate members of the Maasai community milled at the scene condemning the incident and threatened to take unnamed action if the culprits were not arrested.
