Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) managed to soar over Blazers with an 84-63 win in Mombasa in the SuperSport sponsored Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s Premier League with the help of Ariel Okal, who contributed 13 points.

Lions narrowly fell to Co-op Bank 51-56 in the same category in one of the three matches screened live by the pay television station at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani at the weekend.

Even though they lost 66-58 to Nairobi Aviation, Nakuru Club coach Richard Kanda told FeverPitch that he was impressed by the display his charges staged at Kasarani.

Equity Bank proved the greatest reaper by beating Strathmore University 75-65 and Kenyatta University 70-64 to win four points in the KBF Division One category.

“Games were tough but we managed to pull through,” Equity coach Radhi Ndalu said.

Meanwhile, in the Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) league Barclays Bank Eagles dismissed Legacy 57-47.

CFC Stanbic Bank had a fruitful moment as they won their second game hitting Old Pirates 59-50 as James Omweno buried 28 points for the bankers while the losers had 11 from Tobias Odhiambo.

Don Bosco had 26 points from Joel Atebe as they nipped Mount Kenya University (MKU) Nairobi 52-52.

Baraka Xtreme beat Daystar University 44-41 behind 13 points from Calvins Apwoka. The campus lads had 10 from Francis Wanabwi.

Multi Media beat Friends of Basketball of Kenya (FOB-K) 39-34 in a game that saw Henry Diego make 11 points. FOBK had 18 from Joseph Geshore.

In the ladies matches, a point separated Strathmore University against BBK Eaglets as they prevailed 41-40. Knight Makena scored 11 points while Ndiga Akech led the Eaglets with 12.

Laura Makokha nailed 18 points to propel Daystar University to a 35-29 triumph over Predators. The losers had 17 from Margaret Akelo.

Dunkind Academy clobbered MKU Thika 63-45 as Emmanuel Atega scored 15 points and Lino Malek added 13. MKU had13 from Leonard Okuku.

Gladiators torched Zetech College 76-35 courtesy of Sylvia Koech’s 21 points, 18 from Emily Ongoro and 16 from Getrude Sagala. Christine Wanjala scored the losers 12.

Footprints had 24 points from Seline Okumu as they whipped Daystar University 75-39. 

BBK Eaglets won 50-35 over MKU Thika. Ndiga Akech posted 17 points in the fourth quarter. Pauline Mwangi had the losers seven.
