Busia, Kenya: A hawker, 40, died at the weekend after he was hit by wheel that came off a speeding truck at Bugengi trading centre along the Busia-Mumias highway.
According to a witness, the hawker was hit and died on the spot.
The truck driver did not stop and only realised a wheel was missing when he was stopped at a weighbridge some two kilometres ahead.
Busia police boss Francis Nguli said the driver was detained and will be arraigned in court.
