The Independent Party leader Kalembe Ndile recently found himself fighting a court battle for damaging a cap valued at Sh500.
Kalembe was arraigned before Resident magistrate E Muiru at Makindu law courts last week, for destroying the cap, the property of Robert Kimunyi.
He was accused of malicious damage to property contrary to section 339(1) of the penal code.
The incident took place at a bar and restaurant around mid night at Emali township. Kimunyi had claimed that on February 25 at Plan B, Kalembe maliciously damaged his cap valued at Sh500.

Kalembe denied the charges and was granted cash bail of Sh1, 000.
Luckily for him, the complainant decided to forgive him and withdrew the case.
“I have decided to forgive the accused. I have forgiven him willingly and I have not been convinced in any way,” stated the complainant. He said he decided to forgive Kalembe after wider consultations.
The matter was later withdrawn under section 204 of the criminal procedure code.
