Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka has hit out at Head of Civil Service Francis Kimemia for issuing circulars to county commissioners telling them elections are over and they should focus on their duties.

Speaking in Machakos town, the VP said the circulars were misplaced and meant to undermine the Judiciary.

He told the commissioners to ignore the circulars and wait for the court’s verdict.

Kalonzo said Kimemia was wrong to issue the directive as election petitions are before the Supreme Court.

“Some people are yet to accept we are in a transition of devolution since they don’t support it,” he said.

He asked Kenyans to be patient as they wait for the court’s ruling on the presidential election petitions.

Kalonzo assured CORD supporters that the coalition was in charge of ‘political power’ in major cities and towns and hence there was no cause for alarm.

The VP noted that of the 47 Governors elected, CORD had 24 including in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Machakos among other counties.

Kalonzo also advised Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to work with his competitors in the county for the sake of an all-inclusive county government.
