A family in Taita-Taveta County is desperately looking for seven relatives suspected to have been lured to join Pastor Paul Mackenzie in Shakahola, Malindi.

According to the family, the seven including two women and four men left home at Macha Village in Voi sub-County seven years ago to travel to Shakahola to meet Mackenzie.

"My two aunts divorced their husbands and travelled to Malindi with their four children and joined the church. Our efforts to get them are fruitless," stated Anne Mwakazi a teacher, and a relative of the missing people.

Speaking to The Standard in a telephone interview on Tuesday from Macha village, the teacher said they have sent an elder to Malindi to search for missing kin.

"The mobile phones for the missing kin are not in service anymore and we do not know if they are dead or still alive," she narrated.

Meanwhile, police said no family has reported to the police station over missing relatives.

Voi Deputy County Commissioner Daniel Nduti and area sub-County Police Commander Benstine Shari said they have not received any report.
