Coast regional coordinator John Elungata has directed security agents along the borders of Kwale and Taita Taveta counties to put in place strict measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Elungata directed security teams in the two counties to work closely with health authorities in a bid to conduct checks on people entering the country from Tanzania through the designated transit points.
"We have heightened Covid-19 surveillance along the border as cross border points require strict surveillance to ensure those coming into the country through the borders are adequately screened," Elungata said during a tour at the Taita Taveta border.
He was accompanied by Taita Taveta county commissioner Rhodah Onyancha.
