A businesswoman was killed and her daughter, 17, sexually assaulted in Nyandarua. The two were at their house at Manguo village when a gang accosted them.
According to police, the gang attempted to rape the woman but when she resisted, they stabbed her to death. They are later alleged to have turned on the daughter whom they repeatedly defiled.
The daughter has since been admitted to Nyahururu District Hospital in critical condition. Nyandarua North OCPD Benjamin Onsongo said the criminals seemed to be on a mission since they escaped without stealing anything.
