Undercover officers will be deployed in Ngong forest to flush out a ruthless gang preying on nature lovers.
In the recent weeks, ugly incidences have taken place in the forest, according to police. Some unsuspecting members of the public eager to enjoy the fauna and flora inside have fallen victims to the robbers.
The latest incident involved a couple that was attacked on June 30 as the man and woman strode in the forest.
Two men camouflaging in the bushes emerged demanding the victims to surrender all their valuables.

The man, who is a licensed gun holder, pretended to be reaching out for his wallet, but pulled out a pistol killing on the spot one of the attackers who was had a sword.
Nairobi County police boss Benson Kibue said a team of officers had been assembled to protect picnic goers, assuring that the criminals will be tamed.
“Police in plainclothes will be patrolling the forest throughout. It has come to our attention that some criminals have found a new way of attacking members of the public away from police watch,” he told The Nairobian.
