A series of disturbing videos have surfaced online, capturing scenes of police using excessive force during the Saba Saba protests, as members of Generation Z took to the streets to exercise their constitutional right to demonstrate.

In one widely circulated video recorded in Kikuyu, Kiambu County, anti-riot police clad in full gear are seen surrounding a car at a junction.

Several officers are then captured opening the car doors and boot to inspect its contents. Moments later, one officer forcefully drags the driver out of the vehicle.

The man is seen pleading and forced to kneel, before another officer approaches from the front of the vehicle and begins assaulting him without provocation.

The video ends with the victim scrambling to his feet and fleeing to the other side of the vehicle, where he jumps back inside. One officer then aggressively shuts the car door by kicking it with his foot.

In another video reportedly taken in Kitengela, a motorbike rider and his passenger are confronted by anti-riot police.

The footage shows three officers beating both the rider and his customer for unclear reasons.

The passenger, dressed in white, is struck repeatedly while still on the motorbike before he manages to escape on foot. The same officers then turn on the rider, prompting him to speed away.

The video concludes with the passenger attempting to flee but being pursued by additional officers.

The footage has triggered public outrage, with widespread calls for accountability over what many have described as blatant police brutality.

These incidents occurred during the Saba Saba protests, held in various parts of the country to commemorate the historic struggle for multi-party democracy in Kenya.

Protesters, many of them young Kenyans, were met with a heavy-handed police response.

Authorities sealed off Nairobi and other major towns in an apparent attempt to suppress the demonstrations.

By the end of the day, at least 11 people had reportedly died, and many others were left nursing injuries sustained during clashes with police.
