Posta Rangers tactician Zedekiah Otieno has been crowned Fidelity Insurance April Coach of the Month. Otieno has led his newly-promoted side to third place in the league after twelve rounds of matches and has only lost one game in the 2016 Sportpesa Premier League.
Zico, as he’s fondly referred to, led Rangers to three victories over Ushuru, Tusker and Ulinzi Stars in the month of April with two draws away to Bandari and Thika United, garnering eleven points which propelled his side to within three points of leaders Tusker.
The winner of the award receive Sh50,000 and a trophy from Fidelity Insurance who are the sponsors. Not only did Rangers manage to pick 11 points, they did it in style winning tough matches against Ulinzi Stars and Tusker.
Speaking after being given the award awarded by sports journalists, Otieno said the recognition is for the whole team. “This is not my award only. It is for the sake of the whole team who have worked hard to ensure we pick good results in April,” he said.
