Tanzanian singer Zuchu has treated herself to a luxury Bentley Continental GT V8 Azure as a birthday-month gift, adding a high-end car to her collection.

The singer shared a video on social media showing the metallic-blue vehicle arriving at her mansion. She described it as her “first baby” and attributed the purchase to her music earnings and support from fans.

The third-generation Bentley Continental GT stands out with its metallic-blue exterior, diamond-mesh grille, round LED headlights and 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels fitted with red brake calipers.

Its interior features cream diamond-quilted leather seats with red accents, a wood-grain dashboard and illuminated Bentley door sills.

The car also has a personalised yellow Tanzanian number plate bearing her stage name, “ZUCHU”.

Reports estimate the vehicle's value at approximately Sh33 million, although the final price depends on its specifications, import duties and taxes.

Zuchu was also keen to dispel speculation that the luxury purchase was a gift from her partner, Diamond Platnumz.

“These are small blessings that I thank Almighty God for, through my music I have been able to buy myself a Bentley… your support today has enabled me to purchase my dream car,” she said.

The Bentley Continental GT is a two-door, four-seat grand tourer designed to combine sports-car performance with the comfort of a luxury saloon.

Its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces about 550 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in approximately four seconds.

Power is delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive helping the car maintain traction on the road.

The Azure edition places particular emphasis on comfort.

According to automotive publication Motoring Essentials, the model comes with Bentley's Dynamic Ride system, which uses active technology to reduce the car's tendency to lean when taking corners.

It also features air suspension, which adjusts to road conditions to improve ride comfort.

Inside, the car is designed to offer a premium travelling experience, with leather upholstery, carefully finished wood surfaces and adjustable seats.

Its technology includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity and a digital instrument display.

Some versions also offer a rotating dashboard display that switches between the touchscreen, traditional analogue dials and a wood-finished panel.
