Laikipia University's main campus was yesterday closed indefinitely following student riots.
The students were protesting the failure by the administration to address cases of unrecognised courses offered at the university.
They claimed that biomedical science and biomechemistry science courses are not recognised by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technology Board and the Commission on University Education.
The student representatives had earlier on stormed out of a meeting with the university's Senate to discuss the issue. Vice Chancellor Francis Lelo downplayed the claims saying the students were demanding a new programme.
