A Tana River Member of the County Assembly, Hamisi Idd, has died in a road accident.
Idd was involved in an accident on Saturday, June 17 at Kanagoni area on the Garsen- Malindi road.
The lawmaker represented Chewani ward in Tana River County and was also the minority leader in the County Assembly of Tana River.
In a tweet on its official page, UDA mourned Idd as a dedicated leader.
"UDA Party mourns the passing on of Hamisi Idd Deye of Chewani Ward, Tana-River. Idd was the minority leader in the county Assembly of Tana-River. The Party and the people of Chewani ward have lost a focused and dedicated leader who put the interests of his people first."
Nominated MCA Mutua Loyd also condoled with the family saying: "My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Hamisi Idd and the great people of Chewani Ward. Rest in peace, mheshimiwa."
His body has been taken to a mortuary in Malindi.
