NAIROBI, KENYA: The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is auctioning two aircraft of Jetlink Express Limited as the taxman moves to recover income tax.
The taxman has contracted Leakey’s Auctioneers to sell off the planes by a public auction. In a press notice Monday, Leakey’s Auctioneers says it has been duly instructed by KRA ‘in the matter of warrant of distress under Income Tax Act, to sell by public auction the two aircrafts, office furniture and equipment.
The auction will happen on Wednesday 14th October, 2015 at the airline’s premises at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The budget airline grounded all its planes in November 2012 after running out of money to run operations.
