The biometric registration of all civil servants working under county governments kicks off today.
Public Service Commission (PSC) chairperson Margaret Kobia said the national government in collaboration with the counties will launch the programme aimed at identifying capacity needs and ultimately eliminating ghost workers.
The registration programme referred to as Capacity Assessment and Rationalisation of the Public Service Programme (Carps) is already ongoing at national level and will also see re-deployment and transfer of staff within and across the two levels of government.
“The Government is launching the Carps programme that includes biometric registration of all public servants in the counties. The programme is supported by the governors, as it will identify capacity needs in the counties and establish if there are ghost workers,” Prof Kobia said in a statement yesterday.
