A new documentary lifts the lid on the Duchess of Sussex's life before she met Prince Harry.

A new bombshell documentary about Meghan Markle has lifted the lid on her life before she met Prince Harry.

TV actress Meghan, 37, recently gave birth to the couple's first child, Archie, who arrived a year after their glitzy royal wedding.

It's the second marriage for the now Duchess of Sussex, after divorcing her first husband, Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson, in 2013.

She rarely speaks about her doomed first marriage, but a new Channel 5 takes a look at what drove the pair apart.

After tying the knot in Jamaica in 2011, the pair split citing irreconcilable differences just two years later.

Meghan Markle : Movies, Marriage & Motherhood, which aired last weekend, featured an interview with royal correspondent Ashley Pierson who claimed Meghan's acting career drove them apart.

Ashley said: "They were together for seven years, married for two.

"The problem with the marriage was the distance.

"As soon as they married she got the gig on Suits and she was in Toronto and he was in LA.

"The relationship just didn’t last."

Trevor, 42, remarried just days after Meghan welcomed her first baby with Harry.

The producer tied the knot with nutritionist Tracey Kurland and getting engaged two weeks after the royal wedding in 2018.

Meghan and Harry welcomed their baby last week.

They spoke of their joy at becoming parents as they introduced little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor to the world in a press conference.
