The National Treasury Cabinet secretary has been summoned to appear before a parliamentary committee.
The National Assembly’s Committee on Implementation yesterday declined to hear from the Investment Secretary Esther Koimett and demanded a sitting with her boss, Henry Rotich.
The committee's vice chairman, Godfrey Osotsi, ordered Mr Rotich to appear next Tuesday.
“This sugar matter is very weighty. We cannot proceed without the Treasury CS,” said Mr Osotsi.
Ms Koimett told the committee that Rotich could not attend because he was handling State business.
