Evans Kidero, aged 59, is the current Governor of Nairobi County elected in the year 2013 under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
He graduated from the University of Nairobi (Degree in Pharmacy) and United States International University in Kenya (Masters in Business Administration).
Kidero joined politics after resigning his 8 years post as a CEO of Mumias Sugar Company in 2012.
He is seeking to defend the positions under competition by current Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, Peter Kenneth who was a presidential candidate in 2013 and Miguna Miguna.
Kidero will be using the ODM ticket under the National Super Alliance (NASA) ahead of the 8th August 2017 general elections.
