The South Coast destination of Diani has won accolades from UK travel trade and media experts as a popular and highly attractive location.
The lifting of a long-standing travel advisory on Kenya by the UK has also been cited for paving the way for more visits as interest in Kenya from its former colonial master begins to grow.
Speaking at the Baobab Beach Resort & Spa in Diani on Labour Day, Benjamin Cohen, a travel journalist with BMI Publishing Ltd, described the South Coast and Kenya as a great destination.
BMI Publishing are publishers of renowned hospitality journals such as Onboard Hospitality and The Business Travel Magazine.
"You have an array of attractions from wildlife safaris to beach holidays coupled with your people's hospitable charm offensive, which is unmatched," said Mr Cohen, a first time visitor, on Monday.
He was part of a 32-group familiarisation tour of parts of Kenya. The tour was sponsored by the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB).
Wausi Walya, the KTB public relations manager, said the visiting group formed a very good mix to help market Kenya abroad.
