Nzoia Sugar attacking midfielder Brian Otieno has expressed delight after he was named the SportPesa Footballer of the Month for March.
The 21-year-old, who took KPL by storm scoring a brace on his debut in Nzoia’s 5-2 thrashing of champions Tusker in their opening match, garnered 17 votes, three more than Gor Mahia’s Geoffrey Walusimbi. Player of the Year Kenneth Muguna finished third in a vote conducted by Sports Journalists Association of Kenya Football Commission.
Speaking after receiving the award that came along with a 49-inch LG Smart television, Sh100,000 and a personalised trophy at Sudi stadium yesterday, Otieno dedicated the award to his teammates.
