Samuel Eto’o could face ten-and-a-half years in prison and after being accused of tax fraud, according to reports in Spain, the Sun has reported.
And El Pais report he owes almost £3million in tax from 2006 to 2009, while he was at the Nou Camp.
As well as the long prison term, prosecutors are demanding he be fined around £12m.
The Cameroonian is the most decorated African player of all time, having won the African Player of the Year award a record four times: in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. He was third in the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2005.
