Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards on Wednesday announced the signing of Englishman Stewart Hall as new coach on a two-year deal.

He was picked among shortlisted candidates among them Sam Timbe, Didier Homes Da Rosa, Rwandan Andrew Mbungo, Frenchman Patrick Liewig and Serbian Popadic Dragan.

At club level, Stewart has coached Pune FC in India and Sofapaka in the Kenyan Premier League.

Hall led Azam to the 2015 Cecafa Kagame Club Cup title after beating Gor Mahia 2-0 in the final in Dar es Salaam.

AFC Leopards fired Belgian coach, Ivan Minnaert in September as a result of poor performance. Ezekiel Akwana and Nicholas Muyoti took responsibility on interim basis.

“We have terminated his services to the club with immediate effect. If you can remember when Minnaert came in, we were in position two and know we are in tenth. We are out of GOtv Shield and Top 8 so as we are speaking, we are not sure whether we are going for relegation or we will survive,” AFC Leopards Chairman Mule indicated.
